At Palo IT, hiring engineers and designers was slowed by messy technical interviews. Candidates got inconsistent briefs, hiring managers swapped files via email, and evaluations dragged on. I designed Newbee, an internal web platform that streamlined the process.

Candidates logged in, saw a role-specific brief, completed assignments, and uploaded short video presentations explaining their thinking. Hiring managers reviewed everything in a single dashboard, with space to comment and calibrate decisions together. The design balanced efficiency with empathy — ensuring candidates felt supported, not just assessed.

The results: faster turnaround on technical assessments, reduced admin load, and improved perceptions of fairness. Candidates often remarked how structured and transparent the process felt compared to competitors. For me, this was a lesson in how internal tools can quietly but powerfully improve culture and brand reputation.

Impact

  • Shortened technical assessment turnaround times

  • Increased clarity and fairness in candidate assignments

  • Enhanced candidate experience with a more structured, guided process

  • Reduced administrative overhead for hiring managers

My Role

I defined the product vision and led design of the web experience, ensuring the platform balanced efficiency with transparency. Newbee showcased how thoughtful design could improve the recruitment journey for both candidates and hiring teams.
