What I led

Built Guiri, an iOS and web product that helps people in Spain understand official letters, appointments, tax notices, residency tasks, and local procedures.

Why it matters

Shipped a multilingual, subscription-supported service with official-source retrieval and release gates designed for high-stakes bureaucracy questions.

DECISION RECORD

Problem and stakes

People navigating Spanish bureaucracy often receive official documents and instructions they cannot understand, verify, or turn into a confident next step.

Role and scope

Built the product independently across strategy, research, UX, web and iOS delivery, AI retrieval, source operations, analytics, reliability, and subscriptions.

Key decision and trade-off

Used official sources as the retrieval base, designed for multilingual explanation, and treated source quality and safe releases as product features rather than relying on fluent model output.

Systems and artifacts

iOS and web products, Ask Guiri assistant, document flows, retrieval and source ingestion, multilingual UX, tracing and analytics, subscriptions, 13-language preflight, canaries, incident routing, and rollback.

The product wedge

Guiri focuses on a recurring problem for immigrants and expats in Spain: understanding an official letter or procedure well enough to know what it means, what to verify, and what to do next.

The trust decision

I built retrieval around official sources and designed answers to carry users from an explanation toward a concrete procedure or next step. Multilingual clarity mattered, but fluent language was not treated as proof that an answer was current or safe.

What I built

The product spans iOS and web, the Ask Guiri assistant, document flows, official-source ingestion, retrieval, multilingual UX, product analytics, subscriptions, and the public guides that help users understand common tasks before they ask a question.

How I operate it

Critical assistant changes pass a 13-language preflight and can roll back automatically. Canary checks, tracing, incident routing, and monitoring make failures visible before a confident-looking answer is treated as success.

Current proof

Guiri is a live independent product. The supported evidence is the shipped service, product decisions, source-grounding work, and reliability practice; I do not add scale or outcome claims that the current record cannot verify.
